Privacy Policy

Privacy, in language made for humans

Understand the information Tattletate processes, why it is needed, how it is protected, and the choices available to users.

Information we collect

Account information may include your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider, public profile slug, account status, and verification state. Passwords are stored as secure hashes. Verification codes and password-reset tokens are short lived.

When someone submits a message, we process the chosen display name, written content, recording, generated media, submission time, browser information, and limited privacy-preserving technical signals used for security and conversation grouping.

How we use information

  • Create and secure accounts.
  • Deliver anonymous submissions to the intended inbox.
  • Process recordings and generate playable media.
  • Prevent spam, fraud, harassment, and technical abuse.
  • Send transactional emails such as verification, password reset, and new-message notifications.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and improve service reliability.

Storage and service providers

Tattletate uses configured providers for database hosting, authentication, email delivery, media processing and storage, security checks, and application infrastructure. Providers receive only the information reasonably required to perform their services. We do not sell personal information.

Anonymous submissions

Anonymous means the recipient is not automatically shown a verified legal identity. It does not mean that submissions are untraceable or exempt from these policies. Privacy-preserving network hashes and technical records may be retained to protect users, group messages, investigate misuse, and comply with valid legal obligations.

Retention and deletion

Account holders can delete message threads and their associated stored media through the product where available. You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information through the Contact Us page. Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, backups, or dispute resolution.

Security and your choices

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials private, review messages carefully before sharing them elsewhere, and disable your public link when you do not want new submissions.

Children and international use

Tattletate is not intended for children who cannot legally consent to use an online service in their location. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us. Information may be processed in locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

Policy updates

We may revise this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest published version applies from its posted update date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service where appropriate.
